What you can build
The apps, websites and tools Yorki builds well, and what is out of reach for now.
Yorki builds apps that run in a web browser, on a computer or a phone. That covers more than it sounds like.
Things Yorki builds well
| Kind | Examples |
|---|---|
| Websites | A site for a bakery, a portfolio, an event page, a landing page for a product |
| Apps people sign in to | A booking site, a members area, a client portal, a course with progress |
| Tools for you or your team | An invoice tracker, a stock list, a support desk, a recruitment pipeline |
| Personal apps | A habit tracker, a reading log, a budget, a training diary |
| Interactive things | Games, quizzes, animations, drawing tools, timers and metronomes |
| Apps that use AI | A chat assistant for your customers, a summary of long texts, sorting requests into categories, images made on demand |
Apps that need to remember things get a cloud: a database, file uploads and user accounts. For games and other things people play or operate, see Games and interactive apps. For AI features, see AI in your app.
Phone apps
Yorki builds web apps, not App Store apps. When you ask for an iPhone or Android app, Yorki makes a mobile-friendly web app that runs in the browser on any phone. People can add it to their home screen and use it like an app.
Out of reach for now
- App Store and Play Store apps. Yorki does not produce native apps for the stores.
- Heavy custom infrastructure. Things that need their own servers, long-running background work or special hardware.
- Your own domain name. Published apps live on an address ending in yorki.app. Custom domains are coming later in the alpha.
- Editing the code by hand. You can read every file, but saving changes by hand is coming soon. Ask in the chat instead, or use Edit in the preview for small visual changes.
What Yorki refuses
Some requests are not allowed, for example pages that imitate a bank's sign-in to collect passwords. Yorki refuses them before any work starts, and a refused request costs nothing. The platform rules list what is not allowed.
A request that is not about building an app, such as writing an essay, gets a short reply asking what you want to build instead.
