Project notes and specification
What Yorki remembers about your project, and the one document you write yourself.
Yorki keeps a memory of your project in the Project view, so a request made weeks later still knows what was decided before. It has two parts: the specification, which you write, and the project notes, which Yorki keeps up to date.
The specification
The specification is your document. Every build, chat and plan reads it first, and it wins over the notes and the code. Use it for the rules your app must always follow:
- "Prices are always shown in euros, with VAT included."
- "Only members can see the training calendar."
- "The tone of all text is friendly and informal."
Open Project and press Write, or Edit once there is text. Press Save, or ⌘S on a Mac and Ctrl+S elsewhere. Esc cancels. Each save creates a "Specification edit" version, which is free.
Only you write the specification. Implementing a plan never changes it: the plan stays in the chat and Yorki records what it built in the project notes. If a decision from a plan must always hold, add it here yourself.
Keep it focused. Every request reads the whole specification, and Yorki warns you when it gets very long.
The project notes
Below the specification are three notes Yorki writes and updates after each request:
- Project: what the app is, who it is for and the decisions made so far.
- Architecture: how the app is built, its pages and the data it keeps.
- Roadmap: what has been done and what could come next.
You can read and copy them, but not edit them. A line under them says whether the last request updated them. Each update appears in the version history as a "Notes update", which you can undo on its own, without touching your app.
External services
If your app calls other services, such as a map or a weather service, they are listed under External services in the same view.
