Domain registration terms
Last updated 27 October 2026
These terms apply when you buy a domain name through Yorki. They add to our terms of use and the privacy policy, which apply as well. Please read them before you buy.
1. Who registers your domain
Yorki is operated by Pinr AB, a company registered in Sweden ("Yorki", "we", "us" or "our"). We are a reseller: we take your order and your payment, and the domain is registered by the registrar of record, Tucows Domains Inc., an ICANN-accredited registrar.
When you buy a domain, you also accept the registrar's domain name registration agreement and the policies of the registry that runs the domain's ending (for example .com or .eu). The registrar publishes its agreement and policies on its legal policies page. ICANN describes your rights and responsibilities as a domain name owner in its registrants' benefits and responsibilities.
2. The domain is registered in your name
- You are the registrant. The domain is registered in the name and with the details you give us when you buy it. You hold it for as long as the registration lasts and is renewed.
- Accurate details. You confirm that the name, address, phone number and email address you give are yours (or your company's) and correct, and you keep them correct while you hold the domain. For .se and .nu the registry also requires a personal identity number (a private person) or a company registration number (a company, with its VAT number outside Sweden); we pass it to the registrar and delete it from our systems once the domain is registered. Write to us at [email protected] to change them. A registration with false details may be suspended or cancelled by the registrar or the registry.
- The confirmation email. After the registration you receive a confirmation email about your domain. Confirm your email address with it within 15 days, or the domain is suspended until you do.
- Privacy. Where the domain's ending offers it, we register the domain with the registrar's privacy service switched on, so the public lookup for your domain does not show your name and address. For .eu, .se and .nu no privacy service is offered; those registries keep a private person's name and address out of their public lookup themselves, and may show a company's name. The registrar and the registry still hold your details, and the registry's data escrow keeps a copy, as ICANN requires. Section 9 of the privacy policy explains who receives them.
3. Prices and payment
- The price. Each domain shows a first-year price and a yearly renewal price before you buy. You pay the first year in advance when you buy.
- Renewal. Your domain renews every year at its renewal price, the one shown before you buy, which may change with the notice in "Price changes". It is charged to the card you paid with 21 days before the domain expires. We email you 30 days before the expiry, and again 7 days before if the renewal has not been paid. You can stop the renewal at any time before it is charged with "Do not renew" in your app's settings; the domain then keeps working until its expiry date.
- Price changes. Renewal prices may change, for example when a registry changes its own price. A new price applies to your domain only from a renewal charged at least 30 days after we email you about it; a renewal charged sooner keeps the price you were told. You can always switch the renewal off before the charge.
- Taxes. Prices exclude VAT; it is added at checkout where it applies.
4. No refunds once registered
A registration is made at once and cannot be undone. When you buy a domain you ask us to register it right away, and you accept that the 14-day right of withdrawal ends once the registration starts. A renewal is not refunded once the registry has extended the registration. If we cannot register a domain after you paid, for example because someone else registered the same name a moment earlier, we refund your payment in full.
5. Expiry
A domain that is not renewed expires on its expiry date. It then stops showing your app, and your app stays reachable at its yorki.app address. After the expiry the registry may hold the name for a period in which it can still be recovered, usually for a fee, before anyone can register it again. ICANN's expired registration recovery policy describes this period. Write to us if you want to recover a domain that expired; we try, but cannot promise it.
6. Moving a domain to another provider
You may move a domain you bought through Yorki to another provider. The registry does not allow a transfer in the first 60 days after a registration. After that, you can unlock the domain in your app's settings and get its transfer code; the domain stays unlocked for seven days. Once the move is complete, we stop renewing the domain and its renewal subscription ends.
7. Your plan and your account
Buying a domain comes with Pro. If your plan moves to Free, the domain stops showing your app until you are on Pro again, but it stays registered in your name and keeps renewing unless you choose "Do not renew". If you delete your Yorki account, we stop renewing your domains and delete your registration details from our systems; each domain stays registered in your name until its expiry date, and you can ask us to help you move it before then.
8. Use, abuse and disputes
A domain bought through Yorki must follow our platform rules. We, the registrar or the registry may suspend, lock or cancel a domain that is used for abuse such as phishing, malware or spam, that infringes someone's rights, or when a court, an authority or a dispute resolution decision requires it. Disputes about who is entitled to a domain name follow the registry's dispute policy, for example ICANN's uniform domain name dispute resolution policy. Report abuse of a domain at [email protected] or through report abuse.
9. Our responsibility
We pass your order to the registrar and keep your domain set up for your app, but we do not control the registry or the registrar. We are not responsible for a registry's or a registrar's decisions, for a name becoming unavailable before your order is placed, or for a domain lost because its details were not correct or its confirmation email was not answered. Section 16 of the terms of use applies to domains too.
